FTP를 통해 파일을 받아야 하는 경우가 있어 구축해 보게 되었다. 참고로 GCP에서 VM Instance를 하나 생성해 진행했고, Ubuntu20.04 이미지로 생성했다.
💡Install Vsftpd And Setting
sudo 환경에서 실행하였습니다.
Environment
GCP VM
Ubuntu 20.04
Install Vsftpd

- vsftpd config file 수정 후 재시작 및 확인
sudo service vsftpd restart
sudo service vsftpd status
👩🔧 Setting For User
Group 생성
sudo groupadd {group}
User 생성
- group 을 생성한 경우 g 옵션으로 group 명을 넣어준다.
- ftp 서버 계정의 겨우 ssh 접근을 막고 ftp 접근만을 허용하기 위해 옵션으로 /bin/false 옵션을 줌
- /bin/false 옵션을 주고 나서 /etc/shells 에 /bin/false를 추가해 주어야 정상적으로 ftp에 접근됨
sudo useradd -d /home/{user} -m -g {group} -s /bin/false {user}
User_list에 user 등록
vim /etc/vsftpd.user_list
Home Directory 설정
- user의 home directory 를 다음과 같이 설정해 두면 해당 계정으로 ftp 접속 시 /home/{user}/{dir}가 홈 디렉터리가 됨.
sudo usermod -d /home/{user}/{dir} {user}
- 홈 디렉토리로 설정해 놓은 부분으로 데이터를 받기 위해 해당 폴더에 대해 777 권한 부여
chmod -R 777 /home/{user}/{dir}
- User Password 설정
sudo passwd {user}
👩💻 SCP 로 파일 전송을 원하는 경우
- ssh config file 접속
vim /etc/ssh/sshd_config
- PasswordAuthentication no -> yes
- ssh config file 수정 후 재시작
sudo service vsftpd restart sudo service vsftpd status
